Cape Town First Week Bodyboard Trip
Safari got started. In suahili man on the safari is the man unreachable. World in which everybody at any moment is reachable seems empty to me. Journey went like any other to the sea. 12-14 hours in travel is standard. Only difference is that I flew thousands of kilometers not squeezed in train across the Poland.
I had transfer in Qatar, Doha. Clearly they prosper there. Airport is huge and getting to the right gate takes 30 minutes. Leather chairs comfier than ever.
You know that feeling when you can’t believe something completely? Until, the hot air hits your face, you can’t realize that journey started and it started completely. The world real has a great meaning here because lately too much time is wasted on surfing, travelling.. but the Internet.
The most interesting thing is that when I wrote previous sentence, I thought that it is a lie about being unreachable because probably I will be everyday online. It’s not true. There is too much going on, and internet I use only in cafes.
„ Free Thursday” – You tour little art galleries and drink free wine. I really liked that activity. People are more art sensitive and aware what artworks are created in their town. After the whole day, which lasted for 30 hours, the pain in my feet was the same as after the wedding danced in heels. In my mind was only sleep, waking up and believing I’m really in South Africa.
House in which I’m staying is a little bit by Cape Town. District Table View. There we work as kite instructors. In spare time, which I have plenty for now, I ride the waves.
Surf tripes happen a lot. We drive into a lot of different spots. Once we went to Muizenberg. Theoretically it’s already Indian Ocean because it’s on the other side. In reality water there is not really warmer, but they have the nicest pets of South Africa- sharks. When we arrived it turned out that they just visited and the put on the red flag which means – look out.
After such a long travel, there was no way to go back without catching at least one wave…
We live on northern meridionally beach so everyday we’ve got incredible sunsets. We often go to morning swim at 6.20 am. Bunch of 4-8 people with smile on their faces, get up, squeeze into wetsuits and to the water to catch the beloved waves.
We were also in Silwerstroomstrand. Wave there was breaking far away from the shore.
Shark Bay is a perfect spot for kite. Photo above speaks for itself how much kite is popular here. Morning surf check and yoga entered the schedule.
Wave, straight in front of our house. Waiting for hegemons.
